Fun Chocolate Finds

When I visited Luxembourg City in Luxembourg about two years ago now, one thing that struck me is how devoted to chocolate this city is. We visited chocolate shop after chocolate shop, and I had a chance to sample things with unexpected flavors. My favorite was a dark chocolate praline with a creamy filling that involved rosemary. These chefs treat composing chocolate treats like the art that it is.

I don’t remember the name of this place. Darn it! I would be able to find it again because I think it is the only one that had an Italian restaurant on the top floor. I can’t seem to hit the right Google search words when I look for it online.

In my email inbox today I found some information about Chocolate that reminded me of my time spent sampling in Luexembourg. I get these round up emails, and today there are several articles that strike my fancy as interesting. I thought I’d share them.

Cheap Chocolate – Top Chocolate Deals

I was just browsing online looking for some deals on chocolate, and I thought I would share what I came up with.

It’s getting colder. Halloween is coming up. The season is ripe for chocolate! Just last night I sat and scoured my cabinet and found some nuts and baking chocolate. I melted the chocolate down and made my own creation.

Most of the time, though, I buy my chocolate. So I am always hunting for deals.

Here’s what I found.

Buy Lindt Chocolate Bars in Bulk and Save

So, I am sitting here browsing the Lindt Chocolate Bars prices on Amazon and I realized that you can actually save a good amount of money if you buy them in bulk on this site. I didn’t really believe it until I hopped on the Lindt USA website to see what kinds of prices they offer retail and the Amazon prices are about eighty cents cheaper per bar, at least as of today.

Why buy in bulk?

There are benefits to buying in bulk, too.

  • Stock up on your favorites.
  • Find exactly what you want.
  • Get much better prices.

For example, I’ve recently fallen in love with the Lindt Excellence Chili Dark Chocolate. I found it in a store once and enjoyed it.I quickly realized that it is difficult to find. So, I would love to have several bars stored in the cupboard so that I can enjoy it when the whim strikes.

Prices for Dark Chocolate Bars

To view all the prices I’ve found, please take a look at the Amazon widget, below.

Here are some of the prices I am seeing on Amazon for my favorite Lindt chocolate bars. And, if you want to compare prices, you can visit the Lindt USA (lindtusa.com). site. That’s what I did. I need to remember that Lindt is a higher end chocolate and I really can taste the difference, so finding my savings wherever I can is definitely worth the effort.

Why I Buy Chocolate Online

One of the joys of chocolate is the impromptu nature of purchasing it. You know what I am talking about – those moments at the gas station when you go inside to pay and wind up with some peanut butter cups. Or, those times at the supermarket where you acknowledge that since your whole cart is loaded up with relatively healthy choices, you may as well grab a dark chocolate candy bar, complete with almonds.

Yes, I do get it. But, there is also the joyful delight of simply knowing that you have a nice, high quality (yet not too expensive) chocolate bar or one of those variety boxes in your cupboard, waiting for you to snack on after dinner. A fabulous dessert, right? This is exactly why I buy chocolate online – so I can find great deals on the good stuff.

Cheap Chocolate, Cheap Candy – A Memory

When I was a child, I used to visit farm stands with my family. Yes, I loved picking apples and pumpkins and sampling things inside the store. It was a joy to anticipate all those fresh apples that I’d eat. I knew what was coming, too – apple pie, apple crisp, and caramel apples – three of my favorite treats.
But, there was also something completely unexpected about these visits – the glass jars of inexpensive “penny” candy – an archaic term even back then. Let’s just call it what it was – cheap candy. This is where I spent my loose, spare change. Back then, I thought it was a lot of money. The fact that I could buy so much candy with it didn’t do anything to dissuade me from feeling like I really did have a lot.

Check Out This Chocolate Community

I just wanted to share with you a wonderful chocolate community I found called The Chocolate Life.

For me, chocolate tastes even better when I share my experiences with others. When I start eating it by myself, it means I am a little lonely and maybe even depressed.

Chocolate is about celebrating life, and The Chocolate Life captures that idea perfectly. I am so glad I found it! :-) Maybe I’ll see you there?

Cheap Chocolate Idea – Make Your Own Truffles

I just found a cook video on youtube on How to Make Your Own Chocolate Truffles. This is an excellent cheap chocolate strategy and one that I use myself from time to time.

In the past, I have made all kinds of truffles – cinnamon/dark chocolate, flavored with coconut, flavored with Bailey’s or Frangelico… they’re all delicious and the technique is similar.

The truffle recipe in this video focuses on white chocolate and chocolate cookies with white cream filling … heaven!

Send Chocolate – The Perfect Gift Idea!

Do you have a gift giving occasion coming up? Well, one great gift idea is that you can send chocolate. This works no matter what the occasion is because of how versatile it is. It can be romantic, cute, touching, and even professional depending on the type of chocolate you choose and the circumstance.

On several occasions, I have found myself giving chocolate for a gift. I’ve brought chocolate back from trips to give to the person who was watching my cat. I’ve given it as a favor to a baby shower (more than one, actually). And of course, I’ve given it to my husband both as a gift or simply because I felt like it.

You see, since I love chocolate so much, I fit it into as many gift giving occasions as I can! I thought I would offer you my tips on choosing the right chocolate for the right occasion so that when you send it, you’ll make the perfect choice.

Buying Cheap Chocolate Online

Are you interested in buying cheap chocolate? Some people think that “cheap” means that it will be low quality. However, that doesn’t have to be the case. It is possible to find discount prices on name brand chocolates – you just need to know where to look.

High Quality Chocolate

When manufacturers skimp on chocolate production, their product suffers. Have you ever bitten into a popular chocolate bar, only to feel slightly let down? For those of you who love chocolate, this can be a very disappointing feeling.

Good, quality chocolate, however, is not a disappointment. This is the chocolate that melts in your mouth and leaves you feeling completely satisfied.
